Heute mal wieder bei zwei J-Seiten vorbeigeschaut, Justin TV und Joost: Ersteres hat sich zu einem echten Mitmach-Lifecasting-Kanal gemausert, auf dem man seinem voyeuristischen Hang (keine Sorge, Zuschauer sein ist immer Voyeur sein) frönen kann beim Endlos-Gelaber gelangweiler amerikanischer Kids. Joost bietet mittlerweile jede Menge Sender, deren jeweilige Angebote aber meist noch übersichtlich sind. Dafür gibt es die ersten Feature-Filme in voller Länge, mit echten Werbespots drin, die man nicht skippen kann. Wie im TV eben. Aber nur ein Spot, wie im Internet eben. Für beides gilt: Die Usability ist genial. Bleibt abzuwarten, wann sich beides mit echten Inhalten füllt.

Eine Mischung aus dem Lebens-Werk On Kawaras, dem 90er-Projekt JenniCam und dem subjektive Kamera-Kultfilm The Lady In The Lake ist das ichmemoi-Experiment justin.tv: Justin Kan, 23, aus San Francisco, hat sich eine Webcam an den Kopf geschnallt und gibt uns damit die Möglichkeit, permanent seine Sicht auf die Welt zu begleiten. Mit lifecasting hat er dem ganzen auch einen schmucken Trend-Neologismus verpasst und sein Ziel ist es, ein Netzwerk aus Hunderten von Nachahmern zu kreieren. Wie der Held in der Truman Show hat er wenigstens des Nachts (aktuelles Bild) etwas Ruhe vor uns, während die angeschlossene Community darüber mutmaßt, wann denn sein Wecker klingelt und ob er gerade ein Bein bewegt hat.
Wir sind gespannt auf den ersten Zahnarztbesuch, durchzechte Nächte in San Fran´s Bars und ob Kans Projekt tatsächlich annähernd Richtung lifelasting lifecasting steuern wird…

Yes, it’s me myself and I again: The Public Folder project assembled works whatsoever from photography, painting, graphic design as well as textual and audio contributions in order to launch the #1 issue of the self-titled magazine. Artists like Jörg Sasse and Matthias Weischer took part in this collective work dealing with art technologies of the self, initiated by John Harten. As he comments: “the theme means something like ’selfportrait’ and implicates inevitebly an introduction of all participating artists and also an introduction of the magazine-project in its entirety.”
The next issue will obviously deal with football. To be launched May 15th.
